provides vital ‘Homes from Home’ where families with a sick child in hospital can stay, free of
charge, just minutes from their child’s bedside.
At an overwhelming and difficult time, we offer families the support they need to face the day
ahead. They can have a hot shower and a comfortable bed to rest, and our caring staff are
there to listen and comfort them when they need it. Not only do we alleviate financial worries, but
we also help the mental wellbeing of the families we support.

Our ‘Homes from Home’ We have ten ‘Homes from Home’ across England that can support 148 families a night. In 2024/25 we provided 48,062 nights in our homes, supporting 3,203 families.

Director of Fundraising
x1 Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer (South), x1 P/T Corporate Officer (North)
Role purpose: To lead the growth of The Sick Children’s Trust’s corporate partnerships programme,
securing new business and developing high-value, long-term relationships that generate income and
enhance brand visibility. The postholder will also support the Director of Fundraising in engaging major
donors and senior supporters to unlock introductions, warm leads and philanthropic giving.
The role will also line manage a Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer in the South, responsible for mid-
level corporate partnerships (typically £5k-25k) and a Corporate Officer in the North.
Key Responsibilities Corporate Fundraising and New Business Development:
Develop and implement a strategy to grow corporate income, focusing on new business and long-term high-value partnership opportunities. Identify and research prospective companies aligned with the charity’s mission and values. Regularly develop creative and tailored approaches and submit propositions that reflect a company’s CSR, marketing or staff engagement objectives. Produce high-quality, pitch-ready proposals, presentations and decks, collaborating with the Communications and Marketing Team. Deliver confident, persuasive pitches at a senior level (e.g. CSR leads, directors, boards). Build a strong actionable pipeline of opportunities, supported by a robust forecasting, prospect tracking and relationship mapping.
Relationship Management and Stewardship:
Collaborate with the Senior Partnerships Officer to ensure excellent account management of mid-level corporate partners. Work with the Director of Fundraising to cultivate key individuals (e.g. major donors, trustees, senior volunteers – Fundraising Development Board Members) who can make introductions or influence support. Ensure effective stewardship, reporting and communications to build long-term value from all partnerships. Contribute to wider philanthropic strategy by identifying and engaging corporate leaders who may also be major donor prospects.
Key Responsibilities Relationship Management and Stewardship:

Cross-Organisational Collaboration:
Work with the operations, communications and marketing teams to shape compelling partnership offerings. Identify opportunities for co-branded campaigns, sponsorship, volunteering, events and media exposure. Act as a key external ambassador for the charity in corporate settings and sector events.
Management and Reporting:
Line manage, coach and support the Senior Corporate Partnerships Officer (South) and the P/T Corporate Officer (North). Report regularly to the Director of Fundraising on performance against income targets, pipeline and strategic development. Use DonorFlex to maintain accurate records, income tracking and reporting
Essential Experience and Skills
Proven track record of personally securing new five and six-figure corporate partnerships or equivalent high-value business development deals within the last 1-2 years. Proven experience in writing and designing compelling, tailored funding proposals and pitch decks that have secured high-value donations and Charity of the Year partnerships of £50,000 and above. Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of delivering persuasive pitches to senior stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with both corporate and philanthropic audiences. Proven experience in working with and stewarding major donors, using a tailored, strategic approach to secure high-level income from their personal wealth or through their company or corporate affiliations. Proven experience of collaborating with teams such as Communications and Marketing to shape compelling partner propositions, demonstrating strong creative thinking and the ability to turn ideas into actionable, high-impact projects. Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Confidence in using CRM systems and pipeline reporting (DonorFlex, Raisers Edge or similar). Knowledge of the charity sector and corporate responsibility trends.
Additional Information:
Some UK travel, including visits to our Home from Home and corporate partners, will be required. Occasional evening work may be required to attend events We welcome applications from the commercial sector and those working in CSR, partnerships or business development roles.
