WHAT’S THE ROLE?

HEAD OF DIGITAL HEALTH PRODUCTS

We are looking for an exceptional person to join as the Head of Digital Health Products. You will establish and embed a new function at Prostate Cancer UK, shaping digital health products that help more men understand their risk, navigate diagnosis and treatment, access trusted support and feel more in control of their care. You’ll set the product vision, roadmap and outcomes for customer-facing digital products, building a team that brings together user insight, co-design, product delivery expertise and strategic leadership to deliver inclusive, accessible and measurable impact at scale.

IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL...

• Establish customer-facing digital products as a new organisational function, defining how it works, where it adds value and how it supports Prostate Cancer UK’s 10-year strategy.
• Build a high performing team to deliver digital health products – identifying the right balance of outsourcing tasks vs recruiting in-house talent.
• Set and communicate a clear vision for new digital health products, connecting men’s lived experience, user needs, organisational strategy and measurable outcomes.
• Act as product owner for new customer-facing digital product innovations, ensuring your team have a roadmap and manage backlog decisions about what to build, improve, pause or stop.
• Provide senior product and service design leadership across discovery, design, delivery, testing, launch, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Use data, insight and evaluation to define outcomes, track performance, demonstrate benefits and inform decisions.
• Help stakeholders understand where AI can (and crucially can’t) add value to products.
• Champion inclusive, accessible and user-centred design, making sure digital products work for diverse communities and help reduce inequalities.
• Work closely with service delivery, clinical, policy, influencing, communications, fundraising, data, technology and governance colleagues to create joined-up customer experiences.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, building confidence and alignment across senior leaders, delivery teams and build highly effective external partnerships.
• Oversee supplier and partner relationships where relevant, making sure external delivery supports our standards, values and strategic objectives.
• Identify risks, dependencies and opportunities across the customer-facing digital products portfolio, escalating issues and recommending solutions where needed.

• Contribute to and participate in strategy, planning, budgeting, decision making and evaluation.
• Be an active and dedicated member of the Health Services, Equity and Improvement leadership team, supporting Heads of teams and collaborating across the department and wider organisation.
• Be accountable for performance management of your team, working with people leaders to achieve positive results and develop skills and capabilities.
• Positively lead organisational change and development, establishing a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-based delivery.
• Lead and actively role model behaviours in line with the code of conduct as a Prostate Cancer UK senior people manager.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity at all times.

WHO YOU ARE...

• Significant experience leading digital products from concept through to delivery and continuous improvement, ideally in health or another highly regulated environment. (A/I)
• Experience establishing, shaping or significantly developing a new team, function or product area, including onboarding new staff and driving new ways of working. (A/I)
• Strong product leadership skills, including owning a product or service vision, roadmap, outcomes and backlog in a complex organisation. (A/I/T)
• Experience using co-design, user research, service insight, analytics and evaluation to shape decisions, improve products and demonstrate outcomes. (A/I/T)
• Excellent understanding of user-centred design, inclusive design and accessibility, with a commitment to equity and reducing inequalities in health outcomes and access to support. (A/I)
• Able to make prioritisation decisions that balance user needs, organisational strategy, resources, delivery constraints and measurable impact. (I/T)
• A confident communicator and facilitator, able to influence senior leaders, build alignment and bring clarity to complex areas of work. (A/I)

Your line manager:      Director of Health Services, Equity and Improvement

Job level:                          Salary band 6A

Contract:                          Permanent

Hours:    Full-time 37.5 hours per week. We’re happy to consider requests for flexible and part-time working on hiring.

Budget:       Responsible for salary and non-salary budget

Location:       Hybrid working – a combination of remote and in-person working at our London Bridge office. You’d need to be in the office at least 4 days a month and we may need you to come in for specific meetings.

Some UK travel may be needed for meetings with partners, suppliers or health system stakeholders.

WHERE DOES MY ROLE FIT IN THE ORGANISATION?

This role sits in the Health Services, Equity and Improvement directorate and reports to the Director of Health Services, Equity and Improvement. It will work closely with health information and clinical teams, digital, data and technology colleagues, policy, influencing, communications and fundraising teams, people affected by prostate cancer, public involvement groups, external delivery partners, suppliers and health system stakeholders. There are c.60 staff in the directorate.
