Job Title: Partnership & Sponsorship Manager
Contract: 2 Year Fixed Contract – Full-Time (5 days a week)
Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer (The postholder will have no line manager responsibilities)
Purpose of role: To generate sponsorship income for the Society’s events, as well as building and developing new partnerships with commercial organisations to further the charitable objects of the Society
Location: Battersea, London, UK (SW8)
Hours: 35 hours per week (Hybrid working 2 days in the office)
Salary: £46,000 PA

The British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology (BSACI) is the national, professional and academic society which represents the specialty of allergy at all levels. Its aim is to improve the management of allergies and related diseases of the immune system in the UK, through education, training and research. The role
BSACI has grown significantly over the years and with the planned expansion of work, resources are needed to be able to fulfil our strategic aims. To do this BSACI have created this new position of Partnerships and Sponsorship Manager to build and expand on the current work that has been undertaken with pharmaceutical companies to include supermarket chains, food outlets and brands etc..
The postholder would be expected to work with the BSACI team to develop a comprehensive partnership and sponsorship strategy aimed at generating a high level of income to support BSACI’s programme of work. This will involve working across the entire Society, identifying, developing, and acting on opportunities to build strategic relationships with external partners, sponsors, and stakeholders. The role requires a proactive and innovative approach to securing funding, aligning partnership initiatives with BSACI’s mission and values, to ensure long-term sustainability and growth.
This role is hybrid (2 days required in the office, Mondays and Wednesdays). Attendance at our annual conference (2 nights stay) which we offer time off in lieu (TOIL).
BSACI is located near Battersea Power Station, the successful candidate will join a total team of 9 staff working across a range of different areas.

Sponsorship & Partnerships Manager Responsibilities
- Work with the CEO to develop and implement a strategy to significantly increase income from a wide range of activities run by BSACI with those aligned to BSACI strategic objectives.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to better understand opportunities available and develop compelling propositions, showcasing the range of sponsorship and partnership opportunities offered.
- Work closely with our PCO Medivents to significantly increase sponsorship by cross selling sponsorship and exhibition space at the annual conference.
- Negotiate and lead on all sponsorship agreements within BSACI upselling packages where possible.
- Research new opportunities where BSACI objectives align with well-known companies both UK and internationally and keep up to date with new treatments and diagnostic tools in allergy.
- Draft and manage the annual budget for partnerships and sponsorship, budgets to be agreed in conjunction with the CEO
- Produce bi-weekly reports on the income and expenditure status to ensure income is on target and being delivered.
- Manage the Due Diligence process for all new partnerships and sponsors ensuring there is no risk to the organisation reputationally and financially.
- Develop a mechanism for maintaining existing relationships with sponsors and keeping active sponsors updated on progress.
- To learn about allergy and understand the membership of BSACI, our aims and objectives in order to confidently communicate with sponsors.
- Work closely with the Finance Officer to ensure all invoices are generated and arrange regular meetings on the status of these taking appropriate actions where necessary to ensure payments are received according to contracts.
- Work with our publishers Alchemis Communications who develop the publication ‘All About Allergy’ by building further opportunities for those who advertise in the publication to partner with BSACI.
- The postholder will be responsible for researching opportunities for grant funding and building on the work that has already been achieved within the society.
- Explore ways in which BSACI’s pool of talented and dedicated clinical colleagues can help with innovative ideas to generate further income streams and introductions to possible new partners.

Person Specification
Qualification
- Degree level or relevant experience – Highly desirable
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Clear evidence of developing successful funding strategies and securing a six-figure income
- A clear successful track record in securing large levels of sponsorship and developing business partnerships in the medical or non-for-profit sector
- Experience of developing successful compelling propositions which have generated large revenues
- Experience of developing budgets, preparing reports and managing invoices
- Experience of evaluating partnership and sponsorship performance
- Demonstrable success in researching new corporate partners and building relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with attention to detail and creating sponsorship packages
- Experience of working with people at all levels including health care professionals and those working in industry
- Experience of working with or in the pharmaceutical, diagnostics and devices industry
- Knowledge of or interest in allergy or willingness to learn
- Experience of completing successful grant applications

Evaluation and metrics to measure success
- Total sponsorship revenue generated (monthly/quarterly/annually) over and above what has been generated the past 12 months.
- Year-over-year growth in sponsorship income
- Return on Investment (ROI) for each partnership or sponsorship deal
- Number of new partnerships secured
- Retention rate of existing partners
- Average value of agreements made
- Time taken to set up contract with each partner
- Number of co-branded campaigns/events undertaken and evaluate the reach to our key stakeholders from these.
