About You

SolarAid is seeking an experienced, credible and decisive leader - someone equally comfortable representing the organisation externally and leading it internally through change.

Skills and Experience

• Proven senior leadership experience (CEO, Executive Director or equivalent) within international development, social enterprise or a related field
• Experience of programme delivery in sub-Saharan Africa, with a deep understanding of operating contexts
• Demonstrable ability to build credibility and influence with governments, funders, and global partners
• Track record of leading organisations through complexity, change or transition
• Strong strategic judgement, with the ability to prioritise and align ambition with capacity

Highly Desirable:

• Relevant sector expertise – in energy access, climate, or adjacent sectors

• Decisive and empowering, able to lead with clarity and confidence

UK Operations Associate

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week (flexibility considered)

About the role

The UK Operations Associate is a senior, trusted operational role at the heart of Unbound Philanthropy’s UK work. This position ensures the smooth running of the London office and provides high‑quality administrative, coordination and grantmaking support to a small, busy team working across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in precision, and thrives in a fast‑moving, high‑trust environment. You will work closely with senior colleagues in the UK and US, supporting programmes, events, grant processes and governance activity, playing a quiet but vital role in enabling Unbound’s impact.

Key responsibilities

• Leading the day‑to‑day administration of the UK office, liaising with landlords, suppliers and IT support
• Coordinating diaries, meetings and complex scheduling for the UK programme team
• Managing the logistics of events, convenings and learning exchanges in the UK and internationally
• Providing administrative support to UK grantmaking, including contracts, payments, budgets and database updates
• Acting as a key point of contact for trustees, funders, partners and visiting colleagues
• Supporting governance processes, including meeting preparation, note‑taking and follow‑up
• Working flexibly across a range of practical and process‑driven tasks to keep the organisation running smoothly

Business Support Manager

• Duration: Temporary for 6 months

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with a long‑established Armed Forces charity to recruit for their next Interim Business Support Manager (Operations & Governance).
This is a pivotal interim role supporting a charity that has recently undergone significant organisational change and is now operating as a grant‑making organisation. The postholder will work closely with the Charity Director to ensure strong governance, compliance and operational effectiveness during this transition period.

About the charity
The charity has been supporting serving and veteran members of the UK Armed Forces and their families for over a century, helping people access vital healthcare and wellbeing support. Following the sale of its hospital, the organisation is now focused on grant‑making, stewardship of assets, and ensuring the highest standards of charity governance.  

About the role

• Manage day‑to‑day business support, office and administrative operations
• Lead on governance administration, including Board and Committee support
• Prepare agendas, papers, minutes and action logs for trustee meetings
• Maintain statutory registers, governance records and compliance documentation
• Coordinate and manage outsourced providers (finance, HR, IT, marketing)
• Support HR administration, onboarding and staff records
• Assist with risk management, audits, policies and regulatory compliance
• Provide operational support to fundraising and grant‑making activity

You will have:

• Proven experience in business support, operations or governance roles
• Strong understanding of charity governance and Charity Commission requirements

This is a key role within a respected, Black‑led organisation supporting Black and racialised women and children affected by domestic abuse and other forms of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG). The Administrative Officer will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the organisation, providing high‑quality administrative and operational support to staff, partners and visitors.

About the charity

For over 30 years, the Angelou Centre has stood alongside Black and racialised women and children in Newcastle. The organisation delivers trauma‑informed, culturally responsive services that support recovery from violence, abuse and discrimination, helping people rebuild safety, confidence and independence. The Centre is rooted in anti‑racist, Black feminist values and survivor‑centred practice.

About the role

The Administrative Officer is a central point of contact within the organisation and plays a crucial role in supporting staff, systems and services. This is a varied and hands‑on role, combining general administration, coordination, events support, data management and health and safety responsibilities.

You will be highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a busy environment where confidentiality, compassion and attention to detail are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director and senior staff
• Manage correspondence, filing systems and document preparation
• Coordinate diaries, meetings, travel and room bookings
• Prepare agendas, take minutes and follow up on actions
• Support the planning and delivery of internal and external events, including training and community events
• Maintain accurate databases, records and reports in line with UK GDPR
• Support health and safety processes, including risk assessments and record‑keeping
• Act as a welcoming point of contact for visitors, stakeholders and partner organisations

You will bring:

• Experience in a similar administrative role, ideally within the charity or voluntary sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience supporting events, meetings or training delivery
• A proactive, ‘can‑do’ approach and the ability to work independently

Desirable experience includes:
