Job Description

Part Time Executive Assistant with Denville Hall:

Contract:     Fixed Term Contract (3 years),
Hours:          Part-time (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week)
Salary:          £43,000 pro rata (£25,800 actual salary)
Location:     Hybrid, with a mixture of home working, Central London and Denville Hall (Northwood, HA6)

About Denville Hall
Charity People is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Denville Hall, the unique residential home for members of the entertainment profession.

For more than a century, Denville Hall has provided care, support and community to actors, performers, musicians, writers, backstage professionals and others who have dedicated their lives to the entertainment industry. Today, it remains a remarkable place where residents can continue to live creatively, with dignity, companionship and specialist care.  As the charity embarks on an ambitious £26 million Centenary Appeal, raising funds to build two new buildings and secure its future for generations to come, this newly created role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in the success of the campaign and the wider organisation.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional Executive Assistant role.

Working closely with the Board Chair and the Campaign Director, you will become a trusted partner, helping to drive forward governance activity, stakeholder engagement and a major fundraising campaign that will shape the future of Denville Hall. You'll provide high-level executive support whilst acting as a key link between trustees, donors, ambassadors, funders, volunteers and industry figures.

No two weeks will look the same. One day you might be preparing board papers and coordinating diaries, another you could be supporting a fundraising event, hosting VIP guests, or attending meetings in Central London alongside senior stakeholders. The role offers a rare combination of strategic executive support, project coordination and stakeholder engagement within a highly visible and purpose-driven environment.

Important to note
Whilst the role is part-time, it requires flexibility. The majority of activity is likely to take place across Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, though occasional flexibility is required around meetings, events and stakeholder commitments.
Could you commit to these three core days, with a caveat of flexibility, when ample notice is given?

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Executive Assistant who can work confidently at senior level and thrive in an organisation where relationship-building, discretion and flexibility are essential.

  • Significant experience supporting senior executives, boards or trustees.
  • Exceptional diary management, meeting coordination and administrative skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and remain calm under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and confidence working with high-profile individuals.
  • Strong written communication skills, including preparing reports, presentations and board papers.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Experience navigating dual reporting relationships and collaborating across different stakeholders would be advantageous.

Experience within the charity sector is not essential. Denville Hall is open to candidates from a wide range of sectors, provided they can demonstrate outstanding Executive Assistant capabilities and a genuine affinity with the organisation's mission.

Why Join Denville Hall?

Opportunities like this are exceptionally rare.

You'll join a small, passionate team working on a nationally significant fundraising campaign whilst helping to support one of the UK's most cherished charitable institutions.

You'll enjoy genuine variety, splitting your time between home-working, Sommerset House and Denville Hall itself.

You'll work alongside trustees, donors, ambassadors and supporters from across the entertainment world, whilst helping to safeguard a unique community that has provided care and support to generations of performers and entertainment professionals.

You'll also play a part in special fundraising events, concerts and industry gatherings, helping to create memorable experiences for supporters and guests while contributing to the success of a landmark campaign.

If you're looking for a role where your organisational skills, emotional intelligence and professionalism can make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
