Could you connect the dots for Philanthropists with a desire for children and young people with cancer to have a better future?

As Philanthropy Fundraising Lead, you’ll be a senior member of the high-value team, leading a talented team of major donor specialists (x4).

Whether it’s offering an opportunity to support the recently launched strategy ‘The Time Is Now’, or inspiring donors to contribute towards a collaborative vision known as ‘The North Star’. You’ll have services, systems change, evidence and resources at your fingertips, ready to capture the imagination of donors who can help bring them to life.  

Salary: £46,840 (or £49,508 with London weighting)
Location: Homebased, travel for internal and external meetings (offices in Bristol/London)
Contract: Permanent, 35 hours full time and open to reduced or compressed hours

About the charity

Young Lives Versus Cancer (YLVC) proudly leads the way when it comes to high-level psychosocial support throughout cancer treatment, end-of-life, and bereavement. Their new strategy sets out a plan to properly invest in the tailored support that’s needed, ensuring services remain relevant. Through trauma-informed, integrated social work and accommodation, plus a serious commitment to collaboration, YLVC is responding to the changing needs of children and young people by sharing knowledge that will lead to bigger, better impact.

Your Philanthropy skills can play a vital role to help achieve these goals.

About the role

This is a key position, as part of strategic growth of the wider Philanthropy and Partnerships team.  You’ll lead on delivery of the major donor strategy and work to deliver first-class supporter experience, that will bring donors closer than ever before to the work.

About you

We’re looking for someone with a significant personal track-record of major donor fundraising, someone who is confident ‘making the ask’ (upwards of six figures).

You’re a talented relationship builder who develops rapport easily, skilled in identifying donor motivations and matching them to relevant opportunities.

You bring the best out in the people around you, knowing how to motivate a high-performing and ambitious team.

You’re a nurturing and adaptable leader, whose style is firmly rooted in empowerment, coaching and mentoring.

You roll your sleeves up and get the job done, always with an eye on the bigger picture.
