representatives (regional advisers (RAs) new consultants and SAS doctors, resident doctors and student and foundation year doctors) as well as the college tutor and associate college tutors. Our networks connect physicians around the country to the work of the RCP and acts as a conduit to feed-back nation-specific information to the RCP’s college officers and staff. You will advise on and organise a range of training, teaching and engagement activities across Severn, Peninsula and Wessex.

What you’re responsible for

 Act as the main key contact for membership engagement activities for Severn, Peninsula and Wessex including development of programmes for the updates in medicine. Working closely with the regional advisers and regional representatives, to ensure local members are supported through regional activity.

 Establish and maintain effective working relationships with external key stakeholders, networks, healthcare professionals, and training providers to plan and develop future training opportunities for physicians and maintain a positive image of the RCP.

 Establish and develop working relationships with relevant external organisations in the regions such as NHSE, local postgraduate education teams, and special interest groups

 Develop and manage the regional presidential trust visits liaising with trusts and senior officers to facilitate.

 Develop local New Consultants Forum meetings in the region(s).

 Support the work on the virtual poster competition working alongside the Regional Manager who leads the project.

 Work with the SAS lead, Nations manager and the deputy head of UK regions to develop an SAS network across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and support other regional managers in this activity.

 Develop the regional networks in the regions you represent – new consultants, SAS doctors, resident doctors, SFDN, CT/ACT network.

 Manage the administration of new and demitting college tutors and associate college tutors within the region(s).

 Support others within the regional team in developing good practice and improving service delivery and collaborate across the RCP to identify and capitalise on opportunities to further develop the RCP networks.

 Manage the approval process of job descriptions for Wessex region and liaise with the AAC unit to provide a consistent approach.

 Work collaboratively with the Regional Services Team supporting their activities as required.

 Establish links with non-member physicians within the region to ensure that they are informed of local RCP activities and promote the benefits of becoming a member.

 Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence, maintaining appropriate knowledge of RCP systems, such as CRM and MS office applications.

 Attend regional team meetings and other RCP activities in London or Liverpool and take an active role in these events.

 Support the head of UK regions, deputy head of UK regions, contributing to the development of the strategic direction of regional activities.

2. Responsibilities of the role

2.1. Identifying and researching prospective new strong funding prospects for the organisation including donors, trusts and individuals, and planning and orchestrating the approaches.

2.2. Communicating NFYFC’s work persuasively to prospective fund holders by preparing excellent funding applications / bids / proposals / reports, in consultation with key delivery staff.

2.3. Growth of funding from charitable trusts and foundations by working with colleagues across the organisation

to develop project proposals and a compelling case for support.

2.4. Working with the team members to maintain existing and identify/develop new relationships with relevant corporates and funders and other organisations.

2.5. Develop and the growth of an individual giving programme by introducing multi-channel donor acquisition

campaigns for both one-off and regular donors.

2.6. Developing tool kits to guide and support our county federations to ensure they are maximising the potential fundraising opportunities ensuring a consistent messaging.

2.7. Work closely with the NFYFC staff to ensure that funding relationships are integrated into the overall

marketing, fundraising and communications plans. And, to work with the NFYFC Council’s appointed Steering Committees and other volunteers/members of NFYFC to empower them to act as ambassadors for the relationships in place.

2.8. Maintaining accurate records of funding and collaborative working. Monitor income raised in relation to

personal and organisational targets. 2.9. To undertake any other duties commensurate with the level of this post as requested by the line manager or

4. Salary/package

The salary is expected to be circa £37,000 per annum (full time) depending on skills and experience.

4.1. Pension The NFYFC offers a pension scheme to all employees and full details will be given to the successful candidate. In summary, the Federation will pay 6% of salary into a group pension plan, dependent on the employee contributing a minimum of 2% of salary to the plan. Employees may opt out of the Group Pension Plan. When opting out of the plan, no Employer contribution will be made.

4.2. Annual leave

28 days, including Public Holidays, for full-time posts rising by 1 day for each completed year of service, to a maximum of 33 days, including Public Holidays, after 5 years’ service. An additional 3 days of Discretionary Leave (non-contractual) is usually given to enable an end-of-year shutdown.

5. Probationary period

The probation period for this post is 6 months. The NFYFC reserves the right to extend this period.

6. Transport & driving licence The successful applicant must be able to travel/from to the NFYFC offices (Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire) to attend team days, events and similar during office hours on the days they are to be office based. They must also be able to travel/from other locations in England and Wales to meet with stakeholders, attend meetings and events as necessary.

Due to nature and location of some events/meetings a driving licence and access to a vehicle is considered essential. An expenses policy is in place for business travel.

7. Contract of employment

A contract of employment will be issued on commencement of the post and will contain all other conditions of service.
